Charlie V. Jones
Charlie V. Jones is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and was educated in the Hattiesburg Public School System where he graduated in 1966 from L. J. Rowan High School. Jones graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing.
His past employment includes Hercules Powder Company, Store Manager for Woolworth Department Store, and Assistant Director Southeast Mississippi Community Action Agency Headdstart. His career ended at the Internal Revenue Service where he was employed for more than 30 years as a Revenue Officer.
Mr. Jones is a Board Member of the Hattiesburg Convention Commission. He is actively involved in The Hattiesburg Public School District serving on several community and parent committees. Jones is an active member of St. Paul United Methodist where he serves as the President of the United Methodist Men. Charlie serves on the Board of the Library of Hattiesburg, Petal, Forrest County, and is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Charlie is married to Irene Williams-Jones, who is also a Hattiesburg native. He is father of three children Kelley, Derek and Gabriel. He and his wife are the guardians of his deceased daughter, Charley’s sons Jonathan and Zachary. He has six grandchildren.
